The Galaxy V1 When I'm learning, in my mind I'm flyin', it's like I'm fully sailing in the sky, I'm gliding. This whole design, it elevates me inside and it's divine and I don't mind it just as long as we're tryin'. Uh-huh. Close your eye's your mind is floating in space, if you hold your tongue just right, you can picture my face. you know I'm just like you an angel fallen from grace because we're born to this race, fallen from grace. We're stuck on earth, warm sun on the neck. (inhales) (exhales...) Goosebumps, and it's easy to see and it's not hard to forget; creation, she love's ya. Inspiration above. Uhg, uhng! Curiosity, it's an addiction a crazy insatiable cathartic affliction, you're drawn to everything you don't understand so come and take my hand. Chorus1 We'll check out what there is to see with no fear whatsoever, and we'll explore the galaxy for ever and ever. V2 Your adventure is your existence, you love everything, you've got fear resistance, yeah I'm in love with your view of the system, you are never a victim. All exists to reveal duality, all the vibration in our reality. This shapes our journey through the world. I'm learnin' from ya girl. Let's soar above propaganda, let's melt the clouds of our minds with our hands, let's get connected like a satellite system, we're learning to listen. You know that blame is a human invention and that we're not our body really, just our intention and in leaving all the greed behind, that we can free our mind. Chorus2 And we'll check out what there is to see and we'll check out what there is to see with no fear whatsoever, We'll experience the galaxy for ever and ever. V3 To you, it's obvious we're whole, that we're a conscious collective with a singluar soul, that we all agree on one unanymous goal, but that we don't know it yet because we're blinded by gold, that greed f*cks resource distribution and that greed is just fear within the institution from lack of belief of mental constitution. It's just confusion. I'm in love with your inquisitive nature cos you've always got something that you're busy with hain'tchya. The multiverses most affirmative creature, most positive feature. We can reach new heights of awareness, we're going to reach out past the heliosphere, (but) we've got no need for star-ships here. I've never been freer with eye's so clear. Chorus3 And we'll check out what there is to see with no fear whatsoever, We'll become one with the galaxy for ever and ever. ------------------------------------------- Notes: (Love - Curiosity) "The Galaxy" continue's the thought progression from "The Sage", but it also marks a change in mood for the album, leaving the satire behind and moving into a more serious tone. Thinking of 'the hero's journey', having already had the stage set in "The Intro", and then the villan and hero introduced in tracks 1 and 2, this can be considered an introduction of 'the protagonist' as we join them in their thoughts, who, having just witnessed lady 'sage', has just started seeing a bigger picture, started realising their potential, started understanding that being like the sage is not unachievable; to be connected to existence at a whole new level, and that they now have a brand new and clear potential to fulfill, and now they're curious about exploring all of the unknown they suddenly realized exists. In Hollywood terms, "Here is our protagonist and a reason for them to have an epic emotional rollercoaster of an adventure moving forward." Technical notes: Unlike "The Sage", instead of hiding the true genre with theatric cinematic feels, this drum'n'bass track (on the more energetic side of liquid d'n'b) follows traditional drum'n'bass "rules" a lot more closely. The first verse vocals have layered whispers to help 'bleed' the vocal sound through all the cracks in the mix as thoroughly as possible - this has proven an interesting technique which I've also ended up using in other places on the album to help lift my muddy voice a bit. Going for the celestial x mysterious x thrilling but still from a place of relative safety emotionally, with lots of crowd/audience support in the choruses, the listener feels less like they're venturing into the future unknown alone.
